Spiritual Life Program

Founded by the Westminster Conference of Lutheran Churches, Carroll Lutheran Village provides a rich spiritual life program through the work of a full time Lutheran chaplain and part time assistant. The pastors respond to the worship, pastoral, and spiritual needs of residents and staff. The Chaplain is available to serve all residents regardless of denominational background or preference.

Carroll Lutheran Village is not an organized congregation, but is instead a worshiping community. Residents and staff do not become members of Krug Chapel/Auditorium. The Chapel exists as a place where the Village community gathers together for worship and other activities. Residents, staff, families, and friends are all equally welcome to share in the fellowship of believers gathering at Krug Chapel/Auditorium.

Carroll Lutheran Village supports the continuing ministries of local congregations by encouraging residents to remain as actively involved as possible in their home congregations. Recognizing, however, that some residents no longer find it possible to actively participate in their affiliated congregations, opportunities for worship and study are made available and scheduled through the Chaplain’s Office.

Churches of many denominations support the spiritual life at Carroll Lutheran Village: Catholic mass is offered twice a month; Jewish services are conducted bimonthly and on holidays and many neighboring Protestant faiths hold service and meetings with residents who are congregation members.
